He was a proud veteran in the National Guard and also worked for Dean Foods for many years before retiring in the late 1990’s. Michael was a member of Memorial Baptist Church and will be missed by all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Betty Jean Hovan. Michael is survived by his sons, Michael Hovan III (Cherrie), and Gary Hovan (Laurie); five great-grandchildren; and many other friends who will miss him dearly.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, July 12, 2021 at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home, 2551 N. Armistead Ave., Hampton, Va 23666.
