Raymond PeePaw Tedd Tanner

Mr. Tanner was born on April 17, 1938 in Charlotte, NC. He was one of five sons of the late Rosebud McManus Tanner and Thomas Tanner of Charlotte, NC. He retired from the US Army with 24 years of honorable service and was a Vietnam Veteran serving two years in Vietnam. He was employed with Newport News Water Works for 14 years. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Hampton, and was a member of Bremond Masonic Lodge #241 A.F. & A.M.

Mr. Tanner was also predeceased by his son, Tedd Raymond Tanner. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Faye Tanner; daughters, Lacey Moody and her husband, Dawson of Smithfield, and Stacey Bell and Michael Smith of Chesapeake; son-in-law, Brian Williams of Newport News; and granddaughters, Cassie, Candace and Brooke Williams, Autumn Moody, and Mackenzie and McKinley Smith.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:00 pm on Thursday, May 17, 2012 at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home. A celebration of Ray's life will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, May 18, at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park.
