

Rick was born in Rahway, New Jersey June 30, 1946 to Anna & Henry Haba. Having graduated from Rahway High School, he entered the United States Air Force where he spent four years in Korea and at Langley AFB.
It was at Langley AFB where he met the love of his life, Diane Marie Oakley. The two united and were married in 1971. They remained married, until the time of his death, for 49 years.
Upon being discharged from the Air Force, he worked for A.B. Dick Printing as a Service Tech. He later worked as a Civil Servant for the Defense Printing Agency of the US Navy where he enjoyed over a 30 year career in which he retired from. He spent the majority of his life on the peninsula, residing in Hampton, Virginia. He was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church.
Rick was the ultimate sports fan, avid golfer and dedicated Dallas Cowboy Fan. During football season you could always find him in front of the TV watching the Cowboys playing. Many countless times as the neighborhood kids gathered in the street for football games, whiffle ball, curb ball or just throwing a ball, he was always out there participating.
Rick is survived by loving wife of 49 years, Diane; two sons, Christopher Haba (wife Nicole) and Daniel Stinson (wife Suzanne); grandchildren, Scott Stinson, Jalen Mavero and Joseph Mavero. Also survived by numerous cousins and nephews. Rick is preceded in death by his parents, Anna & Henry Haba and sister, Annette Woytowich.
A visitation service will be at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home on Friday, February 12, 2021 from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. A graveside service will be held at Peninsula Memorial Park on Saturday, February 13, 2021 at 1:00 P.M.
Facial masks and social distancing will be required. Graveside service will be limited to 25 people.
In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Peninsula SPCA or Peninsula Animal Regional Center.
