Richard retired as a Chief Petty Officer with 20 years of dedicated service in the U.S. Navy. He then worked at ATE Fixture Fab., Diamond Goodson, Northern Tools, and then medically retired from SiTech.
Richard was preceded in death by his father, Donald K. Mackey. He is survived by his mother, Margaret Mackey of North Collins, NY; wife, Karen Mackey; brothers, Donald Mackey of North Tonawanda, NY and Michael Mackey of Phoenix, AZ; sister, Sandy Pattison of Akron, NY; daughter, Sara Mackey Dunn of King George, VA; son, Tim Mackey of Hampton; and step-children, Andrew and Stacy Wedding of Hampton; 11 grandchildren and one on the way.
The family will receive friends from 12 to 4 pm on Saturday, November 30 at the Mackey residence.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS), 5540 Falmouth Street, #101, Richmond, VA 23230.
