Richard Stutts, (Papaw), age 84, went home to be with His Lord and Savior Friday, January 4, 2013. He was an electrician at the VA Medical Center in Hampton and retired in 1990 after 38 ½ years of service.
Richard was a faithful member of Bethel Baptist Church, Hampton. He was an avid rock collector, jewelry maker and Master Gardener. He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Stutts. Papaw is survived by seven children, and his greatest joys - 17 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Mr. Stutts was preceded in death by 3 siblings, Roy A. Stutts, Jeanie S. Strachan and Ben Copeland, Sr.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, January 10, 2012 at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home, 2551 N. Armistead Avenue, Hampton, Virginia. Interment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park.
