Mrs. Leser was born and raised in the Virginia Beach area and then moved to Hampton in the early 60's where she raised four children and many pets. She loved animals, the family always had a dog, cat, fish, birds, rabbits, hamsters, you name it, she loved them all. She joined the Tuesday Morning Coffee League at NewMarket Bowl, where she bowled for about 30 years. Rita loved floral crafts, making many flower arrangements and wreaths for family and friends. Gardening was her passion and just like her mother, she had a green thumb. She retired as the flower lady from Food Lion. Being so crafty, she had fun decorating for the holidays.
Rita Leser may not be with us this Christmas, but we take comfort that she is now in the arms of our Father in Heaven. Deuteronomy 31:8, "The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.
