

He was born on March 25, 1943 in Vintondale, Pennsylvania to the late Kenneth L. Brown and Viola Green Brown. In June 1961, he enlisted in the US Air Force and spent 20 years serving his country. During this time, he met his wife 61 years, Barbara Cook Brown, and he had two daughters: Marylyne and Bobbie Jo. After Bob retired from the US Air Force in July 1981, he worked for Anheuser-Busch for 20 years, until he retired in July 2000.
During his free time, Bob enjoyed spending time with his family, doing things like camping, fishing, clogging, bowling, and watching the Pittsburgh Steelers. He loved bowling, and he loved being in the bowling community. He also loved being a grandfather and great-grandfather.
Bob is preceded in death by his brother, Ronald Brown; sister, Donna Brown Moore; and niece, Malori Brown.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara A. Brown; daughters: Marylyne D. and Bobbie Jo Brown; granddaughter, Jerylyne N. Phillips; great-grandchildren: Bentley T. and Madilyne N. Butts, and Kayson R. Bennett; and many nieces and nephews.
The family will welcome friends on Monday, March 3, 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home, 2551 North Armistead Ave, Hampton, Virginia 23666, and again on Tuesday, March 4, 2025 at 10:00 AM. A Celebration of Life officiated by Clinton Hardy will occur at 11:00 AM, followed by interment with military honors at 12:00 PM at Hampton Memorial Gardens, 155 Butler Farm Road, Hampton, Virginia 23666.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Bob's name can be made to the Bowlers for Veteran's Link or the Bowlero Youth League of Yorktown.
