Mr. Deaver was employed with Newport News Shipbuilding and retired in 2004 as a Facilities Engineer after 48 years of service. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Sandy Oberson and Lovey Deaver; his brother, Rudolph Deaver; and his first wife, Peggy Deaver. He leaves behind to cherish his memories his wife, Debbie Deaver; sons, Bobby Deaver and Justin Hall; grandchildren, Alexa Deaver, Meadow Hall, Jared Hall and Brittni Cook; and brother, Donald W. Deaver. Also surviving are close lifelong childhood friends.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, November 3, from 6:00 to 7:30 PM at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home. A celebration of Robert's life will be held Thursday, November 4, at 2 PM at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park.
