A veteran of 23 years in the Air Force, Robert met his wife Inge while stationed in Germany. After retiring from the Air Force he went on to a 20-year Civil Service career with NOAA until his retirement in 1993.
Robert enjoyed nothing more than working in his yard, tinkering around the house, and spending time with his family.
In addition to Inge, his beloved wife of 62 years, Robert leaves behind his sons, Ron and wife Debra, and Ralph and wife Bernadine; grandchildren, John, Elizabeth, and Angela; and 3 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, March 1, 2015 at 4:00 PM at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home. The family will receive friends following the service.
