

The son of Eldon S. Moberg and Pauline A. Moberg was preceded in death by one brother and one sister and his loving wife of 60 years, Shirley E. Moberg and is survived by two brothers, Al Moberg, of Suffolk and Paul Moberg of Hampton, 3 children, daughters Pamela M. Oden and husband William D. Oden, Laura M. Anderson and husband Peter B. Anderson and son Stephen E. Moberg and wife Rebecca T. Moberg, 10 adoring grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
He grew up on the banks of the Hampton River on Hampton Institute’s campus, was a member of Hampton High’s first state basketball championship team in 1939, was an outstanding four sport athlete at Randolph Macon College earning an honorable mention All-American honor in football and is a Marine Corps veteran of World War II. He was a managing partner of G.T. Elliott Inc., a Hampton seafood business for nearly 20 years and was assistant pastor and pastor of New Covenant Church in Hampton.
His life was highlighted by his Christian ministry to young people and many others in his role as assistant pastor and pastor. He is remembered as a friendly, kind and warm person always caring and unselfishly doing for others.
The family will receive friends and family during a visitation at Parklawn-Wood Funeral home on Tuesday from 6pm-8pm. A memorial service will be held at New Covenant Church in Hampton at 1:00pm on Wednesday followed by a brief reception immediately after the service then burial at the Clark Cemetery in Fox Hill. Arrangements are by Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home.
