

Robert Eugene Scott, 78, a native of Johnson City, Tennessee, graduate of Hampton High School and resident of Hampton since WWII, passed away on Thursday, September 22, 2011. He attended the University of Tennessee until he was drafted into the U.S. Army. In April 1957 he was stationed in Germany serving as a Sergeant in Counter Intelligence until his Honorable discharge in Oct. 1959. He spent the last 45 years of his life as a Tax Practioner in Newport News; where he devoted himself to serving his clients and friends; concluding his last tax practice in April of 2011.
Preceding him in death are his brother, Earl M. Scott.
He is survived by his brother, Kyle Vernon Scott; sister, Mary Elizabeth Allred; nieces, Brenda Hutton, Debra Cosentino and Lisa Allred; and nephew, Richard Allred.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, September 24 at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home. A celebration of Roberts life will be held at graveside at 2:30 p.m., Sunday, September 25 in Parklawn Memorial Park.
