

She was the daughter of the late Charles A. and Edith L. Quillin and predeceased by her sons, Samuel Grady Freeman, Claude Michael Freeman and her brothers, Charles Ray Quillin, Clyde Franklin "Frank" Quillin and Harold Edward "Pete" Quillin.
Roberta was a Hampton resident since 1971 and many knew her from the A & P store in Buckroe Beach where she worked for many years. She was a mother of 7 with 4 still living at home when she became a single mother. She was a very strong woman with a "can do" attitude and beautiful smile that served her well in this world while raising her children as a single mom.
Her spirit and strength are carried on in her remaining family to include her children: Patricia Mulligan, James Freeman, Rachel Sell, Steven Freeman and Brian Freeman; daughter-in-law; Patty Campbell (Claude Michael); sister-in-law Mary Quillin (Frank); 14 grandchildren: Casey Sell, Christopher Sell, Samuel "Jake" Freeman (Whitney), Steven Freeman (Ashleigh), Jo Ann VanZandt (Gene), Jacob Schrum, Miranda Schrum, Brandon Freeman, Haley Giovanetti, Cameron Schuster, Kenneth Elsaesser (Amy), Tracy Elsaesser LeStourgeon, Michael Freeman, Kristen Kidd (David Weir), Jacob Heil (Catie), Sarah Freeman; 16 great grandchildren: Thomas Bumbaugh, Ethan Bumbaugh, Dillyn Freeman, Kyleigh Freeman, Kaiden Freeman, Kimber Freeman, Mason Freeman, Shianne Freeman, Kayla Elsaesser, Kelly Elsaesser, James Elsaesser, Harris Elsaesser, Lanie LeStourgeon, Whitaker "Whit" Heil, Anne "Avie", Ryder Schrum.
Family will receive friends 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM, Friday, February 4, 2022 at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home, 2551 North Armistead Avenue, Hampton followed by an 11:00 Celebration of Life Service in the funeral home. Committal service will be held directly afterwards at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens (Norfolk) 6309 East Virginia Beach Blvd., Norfolk
