Ronald Arthur Large

Ronald A. Large, 74 years of age peacefully departed this earthly life with his loving wife (of 54 years) by his side at Riverside Regional Medical Center in Newport News, VA on the evening of April 12, 2024. The kind, loving, wise, intellectual, and patriotic man that has touched the lives of so many came from humble beginnings in Beaver Falls, PA. Born May 8th, 1950, and raised by the late Jim and Carol Myers. The eldest of his siblings’ sisters Sharon, Susie, Donna and (deceased) brother Ricky. After high school Ron proudly dedicated 26 years of service to the United States Air Force. While serving, he married his high school sweetheart Linda and together they gave birth to two children Tammy Lynn and Joseph James. His exemplary service to his country could only be overshadowed by his love for his family. Later Ron would retire as SMSgt and be promoted to a new title of PapPap, given to him by his grandchildren. Tammy and her husband Ben as well as Joe and his wife Barbara blessed Ron with eight grandchildren: Candice, Caitlyn, Andrew, Trevor, Sarah, Shyanne, Leigha and Eli. He found joy and fulfillment spoiling his grandchildren and imparting his wisdom and wealth of life experience stories with them. Ron committed to work in the civil field with Northrop Grumman. He would share his knowledge and sharpen his skills giving them 25 years of service. All while still finding time to enjoy life to the fullest and take trips to his favorite place with the love of his life in Massanutten, VA. As Ron retired from Northrop Grumman he would again be blessed with a new title of Pappy with eight great grandchildren and one on the way. Pappy leaves a legacy to live on with these precious little ones: Lillie, Lydia, Lyam, Jackson, Weston, Natalie, Loralei and Caden. The Family of Ronald Large would also like to recognize all those that were like family and called him Dad or Pap. Thank you for being apart of our family as well and the joy you brought to him. We ask you to keep our family in your thoughts and prayers. Services will be held in honor of Ronald Large on April 18th, 2024 at 1pm located at Parklawn Wood Funeral Home in Hampton, VA followed by a reception at 2pm.
