 Obituario de Ronald Waterman
Ronald Harry Waterman, 80, passed peacefully in his sleep on January 21, 2021 after a long illness. Ron, as everyone called him, was born August 1,1940. He graduated from Richwoods High School in 1959 and from there joined the United States Navy where he traveled all over the world including two tours in Vietnam. Ron retired from the Navy after 20 years as a 1st Class Petty Officer Yeoman. The Navy brought Ron to Norfolk, Virginia where he married Mamie Waterman and they raised their family on Fisherman's Road. After retiring, Ron worked in Civil Service for 20 years and made a number of friends and lasting memories. During that time he graduated in 1984 from TCC with an Associate's Degree in Applied Sciences with a major in Industrial Science. After retiring from Civil Service, he worked for St. Leo University as a staff assistant. From there he volunteered at CHKD and years later for the Virginia State Police. Ron had a love for woodworking and reading. He was married to Mamie for 40 years until her death. Ron remarried Angela Waterman and spend the rest of his years with her traveling and making the most of every minute together. They traveled cross country together a number of times. Ron will always be remembered for his courage, wit, amazing sense of humor, and his love for animals and his country. To say that rascal had nine lives like a cat would be an understatement. Left to cherish his memory are: the love of his life, Angela Waterman; his daughter, Wendy Waterman of Norfolk, Virginia; his grandchildren, Anthony Waterman (Dani Veit) and Christina Masslock; his nieces and nephews; and his beloved chihuahua, Bella. Ron wanted a burial at sea. His request will be honored and there will be no funeral. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Ron's name to The Humane Society. "The stars and stripes, they flew forever always in his heart. He was loyal to his nation and bravely did his part. Always thinking of his brother ever in his mind. He stood for love of country and most of all mankind. Now gazing down with his Master through a light and heavenly cloud. He's still looking out for us of whom he is so proud". Forever in our hearts, forever in our minds. We love you and shall see you when it's our time.
