roles she filled with love, joy, and unconditional devotion. She was truly devoted to her family. I remember when we were dating, I once asked her, “Why me?” She replied that I was the only guy her daughter, Lee, liked. Acceptance from the whole family was that important. She was a strong, independent woman who raised three children, Katie (Bryan), Chuck, and Lee,whom she was very proud of. She had three stepchildren, Jolie (Kelly), Jenny, and Michael, whom she also loved, but the true apples of her eye were her
granddaughters, Hannah (Danielle) and Shenan. They brought immense joy to her. Being able to participate in their lives just lit her up. The funny thing is, she would never admit to being sentimental…she disdained flowers, candy, jewelry, or any of the other gifts that were given and said it was a waste. But in her heart, she was as sentimental as anyone. Everyone that had the privilege to know her loved her! We had lots of laughs, adventures and love. She will forever occupy a special place in our hearts.
I will miss so many little things that made her Rosanna. The simple peck when we went somewhere, the texts to tell her I was off the water, the crosseyed smiled when she wanted to be silly, the meticulously planned vacations…so many things. I know that she is no longer suffering, and I am envisioning her dancing across heaven with friends and family who preceded her. I will always love Rosanna Self!
