Sherl Ann Hines

Sherl Ann Hines (Thacker) passed away on November 17, 2023, in Charlottesville, Virginia. Born on May 11, 1957, in Portland, Oregon, she was a beloved wife, mother, sister, and aunt.

Sherl is survived by her devoted husband, Curt Hines; her loving stepdaughter, April Hines; her cherished daughter, Melissa Manning; her brother, Eugene Thacker, and his wife, Jean; her sister, Lynda Ratliff, and her husband, Jon. She also leaves behind her nephews, Timothy Harsh, Christopher Harsh, Michael Thacker, Kevin Thacker, Adam Kovalevsky, and Ryan Ratliff.

She was preceded in death by her father, Eugene Thacker, Sr., and her mother, Agnes Thacker.

Sherl received her education at Kecoughtan High School before furthering her knowledge at Thomas Nelson Community College.

Sherl found solace in her faith and was a member of Fox Hill Road Baptist Church.

The family invites friends and loved ones to pay their respects during the viewing on Sunday, November 26, 2023, from 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home, located at 2551 N. Armistead Avenue in Hampton, VA 23666. A funeral service will be held on Monday, November 27, 2023, at 1:00 PM, also at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home. Following the service, a graveside ceremony will take place at 2:00 PM.
