He was married to his beloved wife, Jane Sustare Racz, for 47 years. Together, they had three children, who are "the best gifts our Highest Authority could bestow upon anyone": Mark C. Racz (Kristy), Ryan K. Racz, and Andrea Racz Casanova; and three beloved granddaughters: Emory Racz, and Lily and Layla Casanova.
He was a Master Shipbuilder and retired from Newport News Shipbuilding after 40 years, as Director of Quality and Excellence Process Division. He was given many awards and honors at the Shipyard and was greatly admired by the Navy.
