

Warren was born August 19, 1939 in Newport News, the son of Joseph Warren and Ethel Nelson Wetmore. He graduated from Hampton High School in 1957. In 1962, he graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology with a degree in Aeronautics and Astronautics and later earned an advanced degree from MIT’s Sloan School of Management. He worked as a writer and editor for Aviation Week & Space Technology, based in Geneva, Switzerland, Washington DC, and New York City. He also worked in financial services and with Pratt & Whitney and Sikorsky Aircraft in Connecticut. After moving to Chicago, he worked in public affairs for the First National Bank of Chicago.
Warren moved back to Hampton in 2002 and lived in the family home in Wythe until 2012 when he returned to Chicago be near his daughter and son.
Survivors include his daughter, Sarah Jane Wetmore and her husband Gabriel Patti; his son, Joseph Warren Wetmore and his wife Corinne Singson Wetmore of Chicago; his sisters, Elizabeth Wetmore Naab and her husband Christopher Naab of Washington DC, and Pamela Wetmore Early and her husband Haywood Ainsley Early of Richmond; his brother, Jonathan Nelson Wetmore and his wife Cynthia Brown Wetmore of San Francisco; three nieces and two nephews; and his former wife, Katherine Evert.
Warren was a loving father, brother, and uncle, and will be dearly missed.

Services will be conducted at 2:00 pm, Saturday, October 24, 2015 at Parklawn Memorial Park, 2551 N. Armistead Avenue, Hampton, followed by a graveside service.
