William Earl Braddy

William Earl Braddy, age 73, passed away on Saturday, September 4, 2010. A native of Tarboro, NC, he had been a long time peninsula resident. He retired from the Newport News Ship Building and Dry Dock after thirty-seven years, as a supervisor in the X42 Pipe Department.

Proceeding him in rest is his wife, Allene Audrey Braddy; father, Claude Braddy; mother, Lucy Clark Braddy; and grandson, Kyle A. Braddy. Surviving members of his family include his sons, Danny Wayne Braddy, Sr. of Yorktown, Kenneth Earl Braddy, Sr. of Yorktown; daughter, JoAnn B. Armstrong and husband Wally of Smithfield; five grandchildren, Danny Wayne Braddy, Jr., Shawn Michael Braddy, Brittany Jean Tresnell, Kenneth Earl Braddy, Jr., and Stacy Marie Armstrong; two great grandchildren, Audrey Elisabeth Tresnell and Victoria Jean Tresnell; brothers, Claude Braddy, Jr. and wife Janice, and Bruce Ervin Braddy; sisters, Susie Braddy Dunn and husband Burley, and Lucy Braddy Hale.

The family will receive friends, Tuesday, September 7, 2010, from 6:00 – 8:00 PM, at Parklawn – Wood Funeral Home. A life celebration service will be held Wednesday, September 8, at 2:30, at the funeral home with Rev. Calvin Lee presiding. Interment will be in Parklawn Memorial Park.
