William Leroy Crosby Sr. went to be with the Lord peacefully at the age of 86 on May 4, 2024 with family at his side.
William was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who loved his family, especially his grandchildren. William served in the United States Army, where he received several sharpshooter medals. He was a master plumber for 40 years. He enjoyed fixing cars, learning technology gadgets, listening to music, and watching game shows and westerns. He will be missed and remembered by all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Nellie Lee Crosby, daughter, Dorothy Lee Harris, father, James Frederick Crosby, mother, Mary Lois Crosby and siblings, Audrey Elaine Crosby, Phyllis Snelson, Charles Crosby, James Patrick Crosby, Leonard Ray Crosby, Marion Frederick Crosby II, and Doris Ann Herron.
He is survived by his children Ernest Lee Musick Jr., Debra A. Horn (Arthur), Mary A. Finchum (Ron), Barbara A. McDonald, and William Leroy Crosby Jr. (Jeanette). He leaves behind his grandchildren that he loved with all his heart; John Harris Jr., Ernest L. Musick III, Jennifer Bills, Christopher Zareo, Christina Horn, Justene Lavoie, Michael Lavoie, Audrey Lavoie, April Horn, Cody Crosby, Hunter Crosby, Matthew Crosby, 15 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandson.
A celebration of life gathering, with military honors for William will be held Wednesday, May 8, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 2551 North Armistead Ave, Hampton, Virginia 23666. An interment will occur Thursday, May 9, 2024 at 11:00 AM at WIndsor Gardens Cemetery, 80 Soles Ln., Dutton, VA.
