He was born in Altoona, Pennsylvania. He spent two years in the United States Army, later settling in Williamsburg, where he was a resident for 24 years. He worked for Bell Atlantic Telephone company and was a congregation member of Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Williamsburg.
Bill is survived by his wife of 55 years, Barbara Shaal, and many loving friends. Bill was preceded in rest by his mom, Elizabeth Shaal; brother, Lee; and stepfather, Chester.
A Memorial Service will be held at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church, 7479 Richmond Rd, Williamsburg, VA 23188, at 1:00 PM on Thursday, August 28, 2025.
