Albertha Mae Groeneveld

She is now enjoying her Heavenly home prepared for her by our Lord Jesus.

Albertha was born May 18, 1943 to Albert John and Winnie Koopman in Artesia, Ca. There she attended Christian elementary and high school. Albertha met her future husband, Richard O. Groeneveld, at the Christian Reformed Church in Hanford, while visiting with her sister, Jeanette Stout. Attraction turned to like, which turned into love. They were married Sept. 10, 1961 in Hanford. They lived a

simple, yet happy life together.

Albertha (Mom) is lovingly remembered as a busy person. She loved raising her children, cheering them on in various sporting events, traveling, camping, fishing, entertaining friends and being the driver on all road trips. Mom had a way of making even the simplest things grand -like her "famous" breakfast feasts while camping. She enjoyed her many years of driving school bus for Hanford Christian

School. She was also a certified bus driving instructor.

Albertha (Mom) was truly a strong woman. She lost her father at age 11, married at 18, and had 4 children by the age of 22. She continued to display that strength even to the end, which she attributed to her faith in God. Albertha is survived by her children, Ron (Diane) Groeneveld of Hanford, Colleen

Carlson of Visalia, Michael (Delcie) Groeneveld of Hanford, and Rose (Lupe) Gutierrez of Visalia, 3 granddaughters, 4 grandsons, 3 great-grandchildren, her sisters, Jeanette Stout of Lemoore and Minie Vanden Brink of Bellflower. She is preceded in death by her husband, Richard O. Groeneveld, and her parents, Albert and Winnie Koopman.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at 9:30 a.m. at Grangeville Cemetery, 10428 14th Ave., Armona. In lieu of flowers, remembrances/donations may be sent to Hanford Christian School, 11948 Flint Ave., Hanford, Ca. 93230
