

Preceding in death by his parents Virgil and Betty Westmoreland and brother Gene Azbill, he is survived by his children: daughter Sara (Smith) Reynolds and husband Craig of Glendale, AZ; son Mike Reynolds and wife Leslie of Mesa, AZ; and son Jay Reynolds and wife Carolin of Quarryville, PA; and his sister Bobby (Reynolds) Longhurst and husband Rey D. of Wyoming; nineteen grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Born in Tulare, February 19, 1948, the son of Avery Reynolds, Sr. and Betty Jean Higley, raised by Virgil and Betty (Higley) Westmoreland, he spent many of his years living in the central valley and was well traveled throughout the United States. He graduated from Hanford High School in 1967 and has lived in Hanford since 1990. When he was younger, he served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints preaching the gospel to the Navajo people in Mesa, Arizona mission. JR was a jack of all trades and had a good life of labor – he held many different jobs throughout his life that ranged from steel and high rise construction to making tires at the local plant and driving a semi-cross country. He spent the last 15 years caring for his mother who passed away in 2016. He loved motorcycles, guns, and his hats. He had a sense of humor that would not quit and a joke for every situation. He loved to serve his fellow man and he loved the Lord.
Services will be held Monday, June 26, 2017. A viewing will be held at the People’s Mortuary in Hanford from 8 am – 9 am and a graveside service will be held at 10:30 am at Lemoore Cemetery with Bishop Lee Fausett presiding.
