Barbara Victoria Silva

Barbara Victoria Silva passed away in Fresno, California on May 15, 2013 at the age of 78. Barbara was born in Honolulu, Hawaii on May 7, 1935. Barbara graduated from Hanford High in 1955. She worked at Del Monte as a lab technician. Barbara enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking and recipe hunting, and shopping.

Barbara is predeceased by her mother, Susan Cotta, father, Walter Gasper, and older brother, Walter Gasper Jr.

Barbara is survived by her loving husband, Lewis Silva of 58 years. They were married in Hanford, California on September 3, 1955.

Barbara is lovingly remembered by her children: Michael Silva and Audra Gerhardt of Ventura, California, Lewis Silva Jr. and Tonya Silva of Orem, Utah, and Susan Silva Swenning of Kingsburg, California, grandchildren: BaCall and Luke Burns of Fresno, California, Scott Silva of Kingsburg, California, Haylie Swenning of Kingsburg, California, Brittany Silva of Santa Barbara, California, Taylor Silva of Lehi, Utah, and Wende and Brian Pimentel of Verdi, Nevada, great-grandchildren Holden Pimentel and Haven Pimentel of Verdi, Nevada, siblings: Margie and Bob Odale of Santa Barbara and Maurice and Lorraine Cotta of Hawaii.

The visitation will be held on Friday, May 31, 2013 from 9 – 10 a.m. at People’s Funeral Chapel, 501 N. Douty St. Hanford, Ca. Prayers will follow with a Mass at St. Brigid Church 1000 N. Douty St. Hanford at 10:30 a.m. Interment to follow at Calvary Cemetery 11680 S. 10th Ave. Hanford, Ca.
