

Bette Ross, 88 of Hanford entered into eternal life on April 8, 2013 in Hanford, CA surrounded by her family who treasured and loved her deeply. She was born February 25, 1925 in Superior, WY and for a time she worked in the coal mines. Bette moved to Hanford in the 1940's and in the 1950's began her career as a cook. She worked at Eddie's Cafe, Peter Pan and The Koop and she was affectionately known as Mother. Following retirement in 1986 Bette enjoyed gardening, quilting, crocheting, traveling and her favorite of all was spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Helen and John Soltis, husband Quinton Ross, son Russell Stone, step-son Quinton Ross Jr., brother John Soltis and sister Margaret Robinson.
She is survived by her loving children Wayne and Jane Stone of Merrill, OR, Norma Hedges of Hanford, David and Susan Stone of Lemoore and Janet and Tim Boneta of Texas. Bette also leaves behind her brother Boyd and Hannah Soltis Sr. of Rock Springs, WY and sister-in-law
Renee Soltis of Hurricane, UT.
Bette will be missed by her precious grandchildren Russell, Dee Dee, Amber, Kimberly, Megan, Lindsey, Julie, Misty, Trae, Michael and John and her 27 great-grandchilren.
The family extends their gratitude and friendship to two very special women, Lorri Mattos and Connie Reach for the care and love given to Bette in the last 10 months of her life. The family is very grateful to Optimal Hospice Care and their staff, especially to our nurse, Jennifer Schraa.
At her wishes there will be no public service. In lieu of flowers remembrances may be made to the American Cancer Society or a favorite charity.
John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. Bette's family is comforted by this verse knowing that one day we will all be united by our loving Lord.
