Caroline Hannah Stevens

Caroline Hannah Stevens 88, passed away on Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at Adventist Medical Center in Hanford, California. Caroline was born to Walter and Jennet (Hopkins) Collins on April 10, 1926 in Butte, Montana. Caroline graduated from Butte Public High School in 1943 and then got her degree in Biology at Montana State University in 1947. She married Milford Stevens who was in the service in 1951 and was married for 48 years until he passed in 1999. Together they owned Valley Tropicals and Pet supplies for over 17 years were she did the bookkeeping in Hanford. She has been a resident of Hanford for the past 15 years and previously of Lemoore for 30 years.

Caroline was preceded in death by her parents; Walter & Jennet Collins, her husband; Milford Stevens and her sister-in-law; Helen Collins.

Caroline is survived by her loving children; daughter Janet Weatherhead and husband Terry of Oak Harbor, Washington, two sons Charles Stevens of Lemoore and Michael Stevens and his wife Karen of Hanford, California. She will be truly missed by her grandchildren; Ashley and her husband Chuck Berry of Fairbanks, Alaska, Douglas and his wife Jackie Weatherhead of Annapolis, Maryland and Tabitha Stevens of Riverside, California and her precious great-grandchildren; Anika and Camden Berry of Fairbanks, Alaska and Kayla and Kendall Sharp of Annapolis, Maryland. She also leaves behind her dear brother; Walter B. Collins of Silverton, Oregon.

A Celebration of Caroline’s Life will be held on Thursday, May 22, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at People’s Funeral Chapel; 501 N. Douty Street, Hanford, CA 93230. Burial will take place at Lemoore Cemetery at a later date.
