Concepción was born on May 10, 1934, in Durango, Mexico. Her family moved to Torreón Coahuila where she lived until adulthood. She later resettled in Ciudad de Juárez where she met and wed her husband of 63 years. Concepción and Manuel immigrated to Five Points, CA. in 1971. Together they established and maintained residences in both Lemoore, CA and Ciudad de Juárez, Chihuahua Mexico and traveled regularly between their two homes throughout their union. She was a woman of resilience, bravely relocating her family to California to provide better opportunities for them to thrive after two of her children passed away. Concepción was a proud dual citizen of the United States and Mexico.
A loving homemaker, she was proud of her family’s accomplishments, and helped them to fulfill their dreams throughout her life. She was a fabulous cook, and loved spending time in her garden. Her sharp-witted personality always kept those around her laughing. Concepción took joy in hosting family celebrations in her home and cherished being the matriarch of the Fernandez family. She enjoyed the quiet of her countryside home and dearly loved her birds, cats and dogs. Her cat Millie brought her much joy in recent years.
Concepción is survived by her husband Manuel V. Fernández; her two sons Jose Antonio “Pepe” Fernández and Manuel P. Fernández and two daughters Rocío Fernández and Susana Fernández; six grandchildren: Valentín Fernández, Sylvia Fernández, Jessica Rapue, Danielle Rapue, Guadalupe “Lupita” Leal, and Paulina Fernández; nine great-grandchildren, Tanisha Fernández, Jade Fernández, Alexander Fernández, Luis Revolorio-Fernández, Allison Revolorio-Fernández, Jonathan, Janessa Leal, and Abigail Leal.
