Darryl Coleman, 71, was born on August 18, 1953 in Hanford, California to parents Chester and Bobbie Coleman. He entered eternal rest on November 21, 2024 in Fresno, California, leaving behind a legacy marked by his profound passion for cooking and coaching football.
A beloved mentor to countless young athletes, Darryl devoted much of his life to fostering their talents on the field and teaching invaluable lessons in teamwork and resilience. He also excelled in the culinary field with a remarkable career spanning over 20 years as a supervising cook. Known for his exceptional talent and unwavering devotion, Darryl transformed simple ingredients into memorable meals, nurturing the appetites and spirits of all who had the privilege of enjoying his creations. His warmth, laughter, and culinary creations will be deeply missed.
Darryl was preceded in death by his grandmother Jessie I. Brown, mother Bobbie Jean Houston, brother Arthur L. Coleman, sister Cora Houston-Anderson, and Paula, mother of his daughter Ashley C. Coleman.
He is survived by his brother Arnold, sisters Janet and Darlene, daughters Vivian and Ashley, Veronica (mother of Vivian), granddaughter Simone, great-granddaughters Serenity and Yemaya, and many others who will forever cherish the impact he made in their lives.
A Graveside Service for Darryl will be held on Thursday, December 12, 2024 at 1:30 PM at Hanford Cemetery (10500 South 10th Avenue, Hanford, California 93230) with a reception to follow immediately at View Road Apartments Clubhouse (602 9 ¼ Ave, Hanford).
Serving as pallbearers are Adam Falcon, Michael Smiley, Rodney Bowen, Willie Cocroft, Stan Kanayer, Mike Luis and Sonny Luis Coleman.
