Deral Hastings Fike left his journey here on earth in the early morning hours of August 23, 2025, and went peacefully home to the Lord. Deral was born in Hanford on April 18, 1935. He attended Laton High School and graduated in 1955. While at Laton High School he met Sadie, who became his wife for 36 years until she predeceased him in 1992. Deral found happiness with his second wife, Josephine (Jo) Karras Fike, who also predeceased him in 2008. In the last years of his life, Deral found joy with his long-time companion, Beryl Hedrick. Deral is survived by his four children, Lori and her husband Mark, Cheri and her husband Pete, Kari, and Deral II (Chip) and his wife Andria. He is also survived by his brother Rodney Fike and his wife Carol, and his sister Rachel Mattos and her husband Tony. He was the grandfather of three and great-grandfather of four.
Deral was the owner/operator of Fike Trucking for over 60 years.
Deral loved his family, his home and his friends, but mostly loved life, a life filled with going to church, bowling, motor-homing, golfing and enjoying his 1936 Ford that he had restored.
While Deral now has a new home, he is not alone, and he will be missed dearly by all those who knew and loved him.
“May the rain fall softly upon your fields, may the wind be at your back always, and may God hold you in the palm of his hand until we meet again.”
A celebration of Deral’s life will be on September 6, 2025, at 1:00 p.m., at Kings Country Club.
