Kenneth "Kenny" Dale Bray

Kenneth (Kenny) Dale Bray passed away on May 11, 2013. Kenny was born in Duke, Oklahoma on October 22, 1932 to Tolbert (Tex) and Irene Bray. During Kenny’s childhood, the Bray family moved many times, and he attended 23 different schools before graduating from Lemoore High School in 1951. After graduation Kenny went to work for Orton’s Equipment Company in Stratford, where he worked for 22 years, much of that time as Shop Supervisor. Kenny retired in 1995 from Kings County where he was the Public Works Equipment Shop Supervisor.

In 1973 Kenny realized his life-long dream of moving to Alaska. He lived in Alaska’s capital city of Juneau for only 2 years, but those who know him well have often heard him say that those were the best 2 years of his life. Kenny took his last trip to Alaska in September 2012, just a month shy of his 80th birthday. Kenny always loved to hunt and fish, and after he could no longer do those things himself, he took great pleasure in hearing about the hunting and fishing exploits of his sons and nephews.

Kenny was preceded in death by his second wife, Janice. Kenny is survived by his 4 children and their spouses: Peggy Bray and husband Rocky Holmes, of Juneau, Richard and Bernadette Bray of Hanford, Randy and Michelle Bray of Juneau, and Rodney Bray of Stratford; 6 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. He is also is survived by his 3 sisters whom he dearly loved: Norma Mathis and Barbara Richwine of Hanford, and Wilna Ransdell of Armona. Kenny also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, step-relatives and friends.

A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, May 17, 2013 at People’s Funeral Chapel: 501 N. Douty Street, Hanford, CA 93230 559-584-5591 with Burial to follow at Grangeville Cemetery; 10428 14th Avenue, Armona, CA 93202.
