Larry Allen Howe, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 24, 2024, in his home in Hanford, surrounded by family. He is survived by his two daughters Cristi Howe-Story and Amanda Howe, his son-in-law Eugene Story and grandson Erich Howe.

Larry was born in Hanford in 1945 to Mark and Thelma Howe. He graduated from Hanford High and served in the National Guard. In 1968 he married his wife Adalen and moved to San Jose. He worked as an engineer in the telecommunications industry in the Bay Area and Hawaii for Western Electric, GTE, and General Dynamics. His work had him traveling the globe performing important tasks for the United States.

He was an active member of his community. He participated in a leadership role in the Loyal Order of the Moose, he coached his daughter’s softball team, and was a key person starting the California camping group “Coleman’s on the Go.”

He loved camping, fishing, and the outdoors and spent many days with his family and friends traveling California, the West, and America. He gave many volunteer hours to San Jose Family Camp. He also loved traveling internationally. England and Japan were favorite travel destinations.

He was an avid fan of sports and loved the ‘49ers, the Giants, and the excitement of pro-wrestling. He didn’t like the Dodgers or the Cowboys though.

He was a great mentor to people in his neighborhood and provided love and support to friends of his family whose lives are affected by him to this day.

After his wife Adalen of 25 years died later in his life he returned to Hanford from San Jose and remarried to Eddie Howe who passed in 2018.
