Wayne was predeceased by four sisters, Dolores Mellen, Ila Terry, Joanne Havens and Audrey Mitchell, a baby brother and his daughter, Cindy. He was very spoiled by his parents and sisters, being the only boy in the family. Wayne was taught to play saxophone by his Uncle Walter at the same time that Walter taught his own children to play various instruments. At about age 15 Wayne joined his uncle in a dance band and throughout most of his life enjoyed playing sax for dances wherever he lived.
In 1955 he met and married Deanna (Gerry) Endersby and they proceeded to have five children, Douglas, Joseph, Wendy, Cindy and Danette. They in turn have been blessed with many grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. They were all greatly loved by their Papa.
Wayne and Gerry moved from Alberta to California in 1969 where he attended Cal Poly. They have lived many different places and finally settled in Hanford where they have enjoyed retirement.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 28, 2011 at 9:30 a.m. at People’s Funeral Chapel, 501 N. Douty Street in Hanford, California. Burial will follow at Hanford Cemetery.
