

Lillian Eleanor Wyke(1916 - 2013).On the evening of February 8th, Lillian Eleanor Wyke, 96, of Hanford, CA, passed away peacefully in her sleep. She was born April 8th, 1916 to Christopher and Ida Anderson and graduated from Hanford High School in 1933. She married Edward Lee Landis and had two children, Edward Lee Jr. and Judith (Hopper). After the untimely passing of husband Edward in 1950, Lillian married Leo Wyke in 1966.
Lillian greatly enjoyed her career working as a hairdresser and later, as a dental hygienist in Hanford. In her free time, she and Leo traveled across the United States and shared their trip photos through entertaining slide shows. Ever the Craft Queen, Lillian crocheted, macramé'd and embroidered beautiful gifts for her friends and family - heirlooms that will be cherished for generations. She also loved to garden and was especially proud of her beautiful rose bushes. Lillian was known to all as a witty and feisty woman who was strong-willed and sharp-minded until the very end. She loved her family deeply and they adored her. She will be greatly missed by everyone.
Lillian was preceded in death by husband Leo, son Edward Lee Jr. and daughter Judith; grandchildren Michael, Edward Lee III and Bob. She leaves behind her children; Gary Wyke and Joyce (Wyke) McKern. Also, her beloved grandchildren; Kim (Martin) Hildebrandt, Lynda Martin, Andrew Wyke, Evan Wyke, Scott McKern, Lisa Robinson, Dana McKern and Teresa Donahue; great-grandchildren; Brittany, Alison, Megan, Sullivan, Benson, Oliver, Dylan, Elizabeth, Kirsten, Edward Lee IV, Erin, Michael, Desiree; great-great grandchildren Kylee, Savannah, Emma, Jacob and Ryan Michael. Mention is also due to her former son-in-law, Robert Martin, who tirelessly assisted in making her final years comfortable and happy.
A graveside service will be held at 10:30am, Saturday, February 16, at Hanford Cemetery, 10500 South 10th Avenue. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to the Kings County SPCA. Arrangements are under the direction of People's Funeral Chapel in Hanford.
