Linda Gail Rodrigues, 77, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on February 14, 2023. Despite a very courageous, 25 year battle with Multiple Sclerosis, Linda never lost her zeal for life, always with a smile and a gleam in her eyes to the bitter end. She passed away surrounded by family and friends at home in Hanford, California.
Linda was born to her parents, Allen and Bettie Pierce, on October 25, 1945 in the Midwest town of Lincoln, Nebraska. Her parents and little brother moved to Riverside, CA, when she was seven years old. It was there she spent most of her formative years through high school. As a teenager, Linda loved talking on the phone with friends, listening to music and studying fashion. She spent hours listening to the musical soundtracks of “The Sound of Music” and “South Pacific”. She played them so often, her brother automatically memorized the lyrics of all the songs.
Linda worked various secretarial jobs, eventually becoming an administrative assistant at J.G. Boswell Company for twenty years. It was there that she met John Rodrigues, her husband of over 36 incredible years.
Linda loved “makeup”, and was very involved in Mary Kay cosmetics, which she did until the very end. In fact, Linda had such a big heart, she gave away more products than she sold! She was an exceptionally thoughtful person who loved to send cards and presents to others. Her creatively written words and carefully wrapped gifts always showed how much she cared. Her passion in life was people. She was a true example of the power of love. She was continuously wanting to give. Whether it was of herself, or financially, she just gave.
That passion of caring for people led Linda to serve on the board of Corcoran Community Christians for Emergency Aid, the Koinonia Women’s Leadership Team, and to facilitate personal growth groups at Koinonia Church, primarily “Boundaries” and “Divorce Care.”
Linda is survived by her husband John Rodrigues; children Tracy Rodrigues, Terry Rodrigues, and Jessica (Rodrigues) Brooks; grandchildren Renae, Emma and Jenna Brooks; great-grandson, Vinyl Rae Frye; and brother, Steven Allen Pierce.
Linda was predeceased by her parents, Allen Lon Pierce and Bettie Jane Wehrli.
