

Mabel Arizona Taylor was born April 27, 1925 in Glendale, Arizona to the union of James and Lola Loftis. Mabel met the love of her life George William Taylor when he came to Arizona with his sister who suffered from asthma and needed to be in a dryer climate. Mabel and her family followed the crop and eventually moved to California and George followed suit. George and Mabel married and began to establish themselves in Hanford, California, to this union were born 6 children Annie, George Jr., Sharon, James, Kathleen and Mary.
Mabel worked at Lincoln Elementary School for many years where she was very well loved by teachers and students, there are many adults today that still have fond memories of Mrs. Mabel Taylor. In 1975 Mabel began working at Kings Rehabilitation Center working as an instructor with developmentally disabled adults where she remained until she retired in 1990.
Mabel had a love for gardening, quilting, playing solitaire, and doing seek word puzzles.
Mabel was the strong glue that held her family together, quick witted with her words and spoke exactly what she felt at all times one of her famous sayings which will always be remembered by her children and grandchildren when you got on her nerves, “Every mouse to his own house”. Mabel left a legacy of strength she was always such a hard working mother and that can clearly be seen in her children and grandchildren.
Mabel was an active member of the New Light Baptist Church which she was key in inspiring the development of. Mabel attended church there until she could no longer physically go but she kept God’s word in her heart which she actively demonstrated to her family, friends and neighbors regularly.
Mabel was called home to her heavenly father on Friday January 13, 2017 at 3:25 a.m. surrounded by her loving family. Mable fought the good and faithful fight. Mabel was preceded in death by her husband George William Taylor Sr. as well as her parents James and Iola Loftis, two brothers Billy Page and Alvin Loftis Sr., two daughters Kathleen Marcel Taylor-Howard and Sharon Kay Taylor, one son George William Taylor Jr. and one grandson Brandon Jamison Mims. She leaves to cherish her memory her eldest daughter Annie Elaine Brooks of Hanford, California, son James Minnifield Taylor of Lemoore, California, and daughter Mary Rochelle Taylor of Fresno, California. 16 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren and a host of loving nieces, nephews and friends.
