

Myrtle Lena Johnson was born July 16, 1939, in Blythe, CA to Willie & Mary Washington. Myrtle was the first of five children. As a child, she attended school in Delano, CA and she graduated from Hanford High School in 1952. Myrtle was married to Willie Johnson in November of 1973.They made their home in Hanford, CA and would raise their family there. In the mid-70s Myrtle was baptized in Jesus name and filled with the Holy Ghost. Myrtle would later become a faithful member of New Light Apostolic Temple under Dr. Marcell Thomas. She attended College of the Sequoias, where she received her RN license. Myrtle worked at Sacred Heart Hospital in Hanford, CA and later employed at the California State Prison at Corcoran hospital; Where she retired in 2007.
Myrtle was a loving Mother, wife, and friend to many others. She had an infectious smile that made you feel better whenever you saw her. Myrtle will be greatly missed and always loved by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents – Willie and Mary Washington.
Myrtle leaves to cherish her memory: Her husband – Willie Johnson of Hanford, California, 2 brothers – Willie Washington II of Hanford, CA and Christopher Washington of Lancaster, CA; 2 sisters – Helen Williams of Lemoore, CA and Irene Smith of Arizona. 7 children – Cleveland Horn and his wife Sandra of Modesto, CA, Rita Horn, Mitra Glass, Letha Shackelford and her husband Bruce, Nola Horn and Orva Johnson, all of Hanford, CA and Willie Johnson III and his wife Katie of Visalia, CA. She had 27 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. She will be truly missed by them all.
