Born November 21, 1928 in Hanford, CA, “Nick”, as he is best remembered, was a social man that was deeply regarded and loved by many. He enjoyed BBQs with friends and family. He loved morning walks, riding the bus and selling at the swap meet. He was passionate about the outdoors, loved hearing the horses neigh and roosters crow. He was an avid gardener, loved flying the American flag and horseshoe symbols.
Surviving family includes his loving children; Natalie Alberti of Visalia; Nick Martinez, Jr. of Armona; Joe Martinez of Eureka; Richard Martinez and fiancé Beatriz Gonzales of Lemoore; and Carmen Cummings of Hanford. Grandchildren; Lawrence Rivera, Orly Rivera, Nicholas Martinez III, Esther Martinez, Adriana Alexandre, Erica Martinez, Cassie Cummings, Niles Cummings, Jana Dawson and Teresa Keppner. He also had 18 great grandchildren. Nick was preceded in death by his loving wife, Mary Agudo Martinez; son-in-law, Anthony Alberti and grandson Eric Martinez.
Friends and family are invited to services being held at 4:00 pm, Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at People’s Funeral Chapel, 501 N. Douty Street, in Hanford.
