Robert "Bob" Raymond Chapman

Bob was born in Leadville, Colorado on January 31, 1938 and was raised mostly in Arizona. He entered the United States Navy in 1955, serving in Japan during the Vietnam War and retiring at NAS Lemoore in 1976 after attaining the rank of ADR1. His son Kelly recalls how he talked about loving to fly. In 1967 Bob married Itoe Gibo in Okinawa, Japan. Upon returning to the United States, they made their home in Riverdale, California. Bob served as Postmaster at Five Points, California from 1978 to 1998. During his later years, Bob loved to travel on his Harley Davidson. He also enjoyed fishing, shooting pool, woodworking, bowling, reading, music and movies. Bob especially enjoyed the times spent with his close friends and family.

Bob leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Itoe of Riverdale; his son, Kelly Chapman and wife, Marsha of Riverdale, CA; nephews, Bobby and Bryan Penuel of Arizona and many friends.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 5, 2012 from 5- 8 p.m. at People’s Funeral Chapel, 501 N. Douty Street in Hanford. Graveside services will be held on Friday, January 6, 2012 at 1 p.m. at Hanford Cemetery, 10500 10th Avenue in Hanford, CA.
