Rosie Marie Cardoza

Rosie Marie “Vavoa” Cardoza, 91 of Hanford passed away on October 7th at Tulare Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be held at St. Peter’s Catholic Church 870 N. Lemoore Ave, Lemoore CA on October 17 at 11:00 am. Viewing will begin at 9:30 am and rosary will follow at 10:30 am. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery 11680 S 10th Ave Hanford, CA.

Rosie was born in Stratford, CA to Antone and Catherine Soares on August 16, 1923. She worked as a baker for Hanford High School for over 20 years. Rosie was a member of the St. Peter’s Altar Society, Cabrillo Club, Sacred Heart Hospital Auxiliary of Hanford, and the Visalia Getabouts. She filled her life with family, faith, traveling, bingo and Elvis.

Rosie is survived by her children, Liz Gilson and her husband Ray, Linda Crose and her husband Shean, Mark Cardoza and his wife Patricia; her sister Alice Stewart, her many beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Albino “Al” Cardoza and her siblings: Irma Silva, Katherine Paulo, Margaret Newton, Mary Brazil, and Tony Soares.
