

Rosie Beatrice Johnson, (Mayshack) 87, fondly remembered as “Ma” and “GG” by family and close friends entered into peace on Saturday, December 3, 2016 at Hacienda Rehabilitation and Health Care Center.
Rosie was born March 31, 1929 in Vanceville, LA and was raised in Shreveport, LA where she met and married Johnnie Johnson Jr. who preceded her in death. The family relocated to Flagstaff, Arizona in 1960 and then Hanford, California in 1966 where she resided until her death.
Rosie was employed with Kings Community Action Organization as a Family Service Worker for the Head Start Department where she enjoyed working with children and their families until her retirement in 1998.
Rosie was a devoted member of the Second Baptist Church in Hanford, CA where she served in the Women’s Missionary Society doing what she loved most, helping others until she was no longer able to serve.
Rosie’s parents, Johnny and Rosetta Mayshack (Traveler) preceded her in death when she was a very young child and she was raised in the loving home of her uncle and aunt, James and Beatrice Johns (Traveler) who along with her sister Mary Helen Williams (Mayshack) also preceded her in death.
She leaves her loving memories to be cherished by her daughter, Glenda Stephens, Visalia, California, granddaughters, Cheryl Grayson (Larry), Elk Grove, California, Stephanie Stephens, Goodyear, Arizona, great-granddaughter, Marissa Lucky, San Francisco, California great-grandson, Jeremy Lucky, Hayward, California, brother, James Johns Jr., sisters, Doris McCall and Carlois Douglas of Shreveport, Louisiana and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 15, 2016 at 10 am and the Funeral Service will start at 11 am at the Second Baptist Church; 320 S Irwin St, Hanford, CA, followed by Burial at the Hanford Cemetery; 10500 S 10th Ave, Hanford, CA.
