Ruben M. Medellin

Ruben M. Medellin was born to Carmen & Lupe Medellin on January 26, 1957 in Hanford, California. He went to be with our Lord unexpectedly at the age of 59 on Monday, March 28, 2016. Ruben was born, raised and remained a Hanford resident all of his life. Ruben graduated from Hanford High School and then went on to proudly serve our beloved country by serving in the U.S. Army. Ruben was a true patriot. Whenever he had the chance he took trips to the San Francisco National Cemetery. While serving, he had been stationed in Germany then once his tour ended he came back to Hanford and started his long career with then, Sacred Heart Hospital as Janitor and retried from now Central Valley Hospital after 25 years. One of Ruben’s life’s passions was his love for the San Francisco Giants. He was a true fan and enjoyed attending the games.

He is survived by his 7 children; Renee Hobbs, Crystal Medellin, Amanda Medellin, Ruben Medellin, Jr., Rudy Medellin, Robert Medellin and Sabrah Medellin. He was also a loving Papa to his 7 grandchildren and an awesome uncle to his many nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his 4 sisters; Yolanda Oliver, Becky Maldonado, Barbara Torres and Debbie Gonzales.

A Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 7, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., immediately followed by a Funeral Service at 1:00 p.m. all at People’s Funeral Chapel; 501 N. Douty Street, Hanford, CA 93230 with a Graveside Service to be held on Friday, April 8, 2016 at 1:30 p.m. at San Joaquin National Cemetery; 32053 McCabe Road, Santa Nella, CA 95322.
