

Sam was raised in Armona where he attended Armona Elementary and Armona Parkview School. He graduated from Hanford High School in June of 1986. In August of 1989 Sam enlisted in the Navy and was assigned to the USS Constellation CV64. Sam received his National Defense Service Medal. Sam also worked as a custodian for many years at Hanford Community Hospital in Hanford, Ca. He also worked for Daval Carpet Cleaning for a period of years. Growing up Sam loved the game of baseball and played Little League in Armona on his father’s team. He loved the Dodgers and his favorite football team was the Raiders. He was an excellent skate boarder and he loved his comic book collection. Sam always had a funny story to tell. He would sit and laugh with his family and tell of funny stories he and his cousins had experience as a youngsters.
Sam was a kind hearted person and always made friends everywhere he went. He was the type of person that would give you his last meal and the shirt off his back. Sam was so excited when he heard of the news his great niece was arriving in December.
Sam is survived by his only sister Almira Varela Alcoser and husband Rito Alcoser. His one and only nephew Devin Alcoser and wife Elena Alcoser (only niece) Madelyn Grace Alcoser arriving in December. Maria Mendez caregiver/significant love. Sam is preceded in death by: Paul Varela - Father, Ninfa Varela - Mother, Candelario Varela - Grandfather, Eloiza Varela - Grandmother, Amador Chavira - Grandfather,
Luz Chavira - Grandmother.
