My sincere condolences to Alan’s family, friends, and everyone who loved him. Four years ago, Alan hired me at Lookout, and over time he became not only a manager but also a mentor and a true friend. I will always remember his passion, his sense of humor, and the guidance he offered me throughout my time working with him. He consistently looked out for me and showed genuine care for my well-being, both personally and professionally, which meant more to me than he probably realized. Alan had a lasting impact on my career and on many of us who had the privilege of working with him. He will be greatly missed.

My sincerest condolences to Alan’s family and friends. I met Alan through Alyssa and we had a lot of fun singing karaoke. He was a great person, and will be missed. Rest in peace, Alan. ❤️

I worked pretty closely with Alan for the past few years at Lookout. He was a wonderful, genuine person who will be missed dearly. He was always bright and humorous, despite carrying a heavy workload with a lot of demands from inside and outside the company. He cared a lot about what we built together, took the time to dig into the details and often took the brunt of the impact when we broke something and he had to have the difficult conversations with our partners and customers. 

We bonded over both being from across the bond, talked about rugby and culture. I will miss him dearly. Deepest sympathies to his friends and family, hope his laughter and humour stay with you always.

Hearing if Alan’s passing is devastating. I always looked up to Alan, he was a great mentor and friend. I’ll never hear the song ‘walking on Memphis’ without thinking of him. I wish I said yes to more hangouts on the pond. I wish we stayed closer durning COVID. I’ll miss you Alan, but I am glad to have known you.

Although the miles separated us, we had times when we messaged. He was funny and daft, a lot like his father. It’s a sad time for all his family and friends, but he will always be in my thoughts and a special place in my heart. 

My condolences to Alan's family, friends, and loved ones. Alan was my hiring manager 4 years ago at Lookout. He was also my mentor and a friend. I will always remember the energy he brought to every meeting, the advice and support he give me personally and professionally, and his humor. Alan will be missed. Goodbye my friend.

I had the privilege of working alongside Alan for ten years at Lookout, and those years left a mark on me that I'll carry for the rest of my career and my life.

Alan was my partner in every meaningful sense of the word. As our Product Manager, he was the one who saw the vision - and I was the one he trusted to help build it. What made Alan exceptional wasn't just his sharp product instincts, though he had those in abundance. It was the way he approached the work. He never just handed down requirements. He sat with us, thought with us, wrestled with the hard problems alongside us. He was genuinely passionate about partnering with engineering, and that made all of us better at what we did.

Alan also had a gift for connecting with people beyond our walls. He loved engaging with customers and partners - not as a transaction, but as a conversation. He listened. He cared about getting it right for the people who depended on what we built together.

And when the work was done - or sometimes when it wasn't quite done but we needed to step back and breathe - Alan was always up for a pint. Those moments are some of my fondest memories in our early Boston days: raising a glass, reflecting on what we'd accomplished, laughing about what had gone sideways, and simply enjoying each other's company. He understood that the work mattered, but the people mattered more.

Ten years is a long time to build something with someone. Alan wasn't just a colleague. He was a thoughtful, dedicated partner who made the work meaningful and the journey worthwhile. I am deeply grateful for every product debate, every late push to get things right, and every pint shared along the way.

He will be profoundly missed.

Alan was my oldest nephew, the son of my brother. Distance kept us apart but I always knew he was there. I looked forward to our irregular messaging. There is a part in my heart for all my nieces and nephews , now one is broken. We will keep your family as close as we can Alan. You will be missed by your three aunties and five cousins......but you will remain with us always......AB xx

Dear American family, my most enduring memory of Alan is when he was about 3 years-old. Driving back from the farm to Newchurch with Alan and Aunty Debi sitting in the back of my minivan with their legs hanging out. I went too fast round a corner at the top of a hill and the both shot out. Fortunately Aunty Debi managed to get a grip on the roof, and Alan, stopping them from falling out. The reason they were travelling this way? He’d been ‘paddling’ in the pig-muck midden!

My deepest condolences. Alan and I enjoyed many hours playing Warhammer 40k.  I will miss his quick wit, and dry British sense of humor.  He was a good friend.
