Anne Veronica Hegarty

Born and raised in Dorchester, Anne graduated from Monsignor Ryan Memorial High School. She moved to Quincy with her husband Robert and raised their five children. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, Anne will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to have known her. Anne was the beloved wife of Robert F. Hegarty for over 60 years. Loving mother of Kathy Posey, Peggy Hegarty-Steck, Anne Lord, Robert Hegarty, and Brian Hegarty. She is also survived by her sisters, Mary Joyce and Margaret Osborne. She is predeceased by her parents Anna and John Joyce, and her siblings John Joyce and Catherine Joyce.

Her greatest joy came from being a grandmother to Samantha Lord, Katherine Steck, Lauren Hegarty, John Hegarty, Patrick Hegarty, Ryan Hegarty, and Joyce Posey. She often said that the reward for having children was grandchildren. She cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren and made sure they always knew how deeply loved they were by their "Na" or "Nana."

Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made in Anne’s name to the charity of one's choice.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, April 17, 2026 at 9:00AM, at Saint Mary's Church, 392 Hanover Street, Hanover, MA. The interment will be held at a later date.
