Our family was deeply saddened to announce the death of Dana Horn on February 16, 2026. Dana was born on October 10, 1959 to Alfred Horn, Jr. and Laura Jean Keegan Horn (deceased). He was the fourth of five children and a lifelong resident of Hanover.
Dana will be buried with his sister Suzi and brother Brett. A graveside funeral service and celebration of life will take place at Hanover Center Cemetery on May 9th at 11:30 AM. Donations are welcome to Hanover Food Pantry, 495 Hanover Street, Hanover, MA 02339.
He was well known to town residents as Red Man. He walked everywhere around town and beyond, wearing red clothing and was (consequently) easily recognizable. He felt that red clothes would keep him safe on the roads.
Dana graduated from Hanover High School in 1977. Shortly after high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served for three years traveling the world. After serving, he returned to his homestead and lived with his brother Brett (deceased).
Dana was blessed with a very friendly smile and a giving spirit. He was extremely respectful and polite to everyone in his life. He never complained and always had good things to say about his family and friends. He lived his life his way. He will be sorely missed but always remembered. Many thanks to all of Dana’s family and friends that helped him along the way. He was always well taken care of by all of you.
Dana is survived by his Sister Lori Hayes and Husband Paul, Brother Ken Horn and his Wife Kathy. He is predeceased by his Sister Suzi Horn Flanagan and Brother Brett Horn. He was Uncle to Matt, Justin, Kris, Kyle, Kory, Paul, Jr. and Tammi.
