

Mrs. Edna W. Wright Gardner, 89 of Hanover died Monday, November 6, 2006 after a brief illness. She was born in Somerville on January 13, 1917. SHe was educated in Plymouth and was a 1935 graduate of Plymouth High School. Mrs. Gardner was a Rockland School Crossing Guard from 1966-1983, she also spent many years on the Rockland Youth Commission. From 1958-1981 she was a Quarter Master with the Defenders Drum and Bugle Corps in Rockland. Edna enjoyed spending time with family and cooking. Wife of Richard P. Gardner of Bourne. Mother of John C. Gardner of East Bridgewater, David E. Gardner of Whitman, Richard P. Gardner Jr. of Plymouth, Brian F. Gardner of Hanover, Bonnie L. Gardner of Weymouth, Beth Murphy of Hingham and the late Stephen M. Gardner. Also survived by 15 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, November 10, 2006 at 9 AM in St. Mary of the Sacred Heart Church, 392 Hanover St., Rte 139 in Hanover. Interment in Hanover Center Cemetery. Visiting hours in the Sullivan Funeral Home, 551 Washington St., Rte 53 in HANOVER on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Donations in Edna's name may be made to the Hospice of the south Shore, 100 Baystate Drive, Braintree MA 02184 or to the Norwell Visiting Nurse Association, Washington St., Norwell MA 02061.
