

Francis "Hank" Patrick Collins, 80 of Plymouth, MA passed away peacefully on November 19, 2021 surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Dorchester and grew up in Dorchester and Stoughton. Upon graduating Stoughton high school, he chose to serve his country and entered the United States Marine Corps. After serving in the Marine Corps, he continued his commitment to service by joining the Massachusetts State Police where he protected and served his community for 20 years. Following his retirement from the State Police, he worked at Marsh Construction, JB Hunt, and with the Teamsters Union.
Hank was a quiet, kind and patient man who enjoyed helping others. He enjoyed reading the newspaper and military or mobster novels. He had a love for the sport of football and could tell you more than you ever needed to know about college and pro ball. You could always find him in front of the TV for Sunday football. He was a hockey enthusiast who started the Hobomock girls ice hockey program out of the Hobomock arena in the mid seventies. He established and grew the program, often traveling and competing in State and National tournaments with his daughters. An avid Bruins fan, he enjoyed watching games at home with his family. He also loved spending time at his home in NH surrounded by woods and nature.
Hank was predeceased by his parents, Francis and Margaret Collins of Stoughton, MA, his brother, John (Jack) Collins of Hanson, MA, his son, Patrick Collins of Pembroke, MA, and his son in law, Dale Gallant of Norwood, MA. He is survived by his daughter, Kathleen deWerk and her husband, Patrick of Roseville, CA, his daughter, Maureen Collins of Plymouth, MA, his daughter, Carolyn Collins of Norwood, MA, his granddaughter, Caitlin deWerk of Roseville, CA, his ex wife and lifelong friend, Judith Collins of Pembroke, MA, his brother, Joseph Collins of Brockton, MA and his sister, Margaret (Peg) McGrath of Stoughton, MA.
Visiting hours will be held Thursday, December 2nd, 4 pm to 7 pm at Sullivan Funeral Home, 2 Maquan St. Hanson. A memorial mass will be celebrated Friday, December 3rd, 11 am at Holy Apostles Parish (formerly known as St. Joseph the Worker) 1 Maquan St. Hanson.
