Jack Allan Birtwell, of Norwell on April 11, 2026 at the age of 21. It is with profound sadness we announce the unexpected passing of our beloved son after a brief illness. Jack was a cherished son, brother, grandson, cousin, teammate, and friend to many.
Jack was born in Weymouth, Massachusetts, on February 4, 2005. He lived in Rockland and Abington until moving to Norwell in 2014. Jack attended Beaver Brook Elementary School, Calvary Chapel Academy, and the Norwell Public School system, from which he graduated in 2023. While growing up in Norwell, Jack was a member of the robotics team and played basketball, football, and, most notably, baseball. Jack missed his freshman baseball season due to COVID-19, but went on to play on the varsity team, lettering for three years. He served as team captain during his senior year and was named a South Shore League All-Star. Jack also played for Post 118 Cohasset Legion under Coach Kroeger.
After high school, Jack committed to continuing both his education and his baseball career at Gordon College in Wenham, Massachusetts, where he studied kinesiology. While attending
Gordon, he formed many meaningful friendships that he deeply cherished. His classmates and teammates often spoke of his constant smile, his sense of humor, and above all, his dedication to
achieving his baseball dreams.
In the summer of 2025, Jack was honored to be selected to play in the FCBL for the Vermont Lake Monsters under Coach Finch. He spent much of the summer in Burlington, Vermont, playing the game he loved most, and was selected as an All-Star.
In 2025, Jack transferred to Sacred Heart University to fulfill his dream of playing Division I baseball and to continue his studies toward becoming a physical therapist. He played for Coach Pat Egan and treasured every moment with his team.
Jack was an active member of Calvary Chapel Rockland where he devoted his life to Jesus Christ. Jack’s faith in God was a source of strength and comfort throughout his life on this earth. His family finds comfort knowing that he is with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
