Janet Holbrook

Janet Holbrook, 85, passed Tuesday, February 8, 2022 at her beautiful home in Pembroke, MA. She was surrounded by her husband and all of her children at the time of her peaceful passing. Janet was the daughter of the late John J. Madigan and Marion A. Madigan of Rockland, MA. Born on May 28, 1936 in Boston, Janet attended and graduated from Rockland High School. She was also a graduate of Katherine Gibbs School in Boston.  

Janet was an active member in various clubs throughout the years: Director of the Holy Family Church Annual Variety Show, Abington Little Theater, Hanover Garden Club, Hanover Book Club, supporter, volunteer and board member of the North and South Rivers Watershed Association, and was also a member of the band 'The People Next Door.' She was also the director of Westfield Preschool in Brockton for 25 years.  

Janet leaves behind her husband, Alan L. Holbrook of Pembroke, MA and four children: Mark Holbrook and his wife Elaine Clement- Holbrook of West Bridgewater, Brian Holbrook and his wife Melanie Holbrook of Rockland, Jennifer Holbrook of Hull, Marylee Morgan and her husband Ralph Morgan of Halifax and the late Stacey Andrade of Rockland. She was the sister of the late Elaine Costello of Hingham and Marion Housley of New Bedford. She is survived by 11 grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Michael Northrup, Joseph Andrade, Suzanne Deibel, Nicole Barrows, Alan Morgan, Rachael Morgan, Jason Deibel, Jayme Northrup, Jackson Northrup, Maya Northrup, and Caleb Andrade. Janet also leaves behind her longtime best friend, Deborah Coe Luke of Brockton and her children, Heather Luke, George Luke, and Kimberly Hedrick. 

A private celebration of life will be held at a future date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the North and South Rivers Watershed Association or the Scituate Animal Shelter.
