John Mahoney

John was born on February 28, 1934 and was raised in Charlestown, MA. He married Lois A. Reinhalter in 1955 and the two settled in Hanover to raise their family. John worked as a longshoreman for Boston Shipping Association, Local 1066.

John enjoyed vacationing to Maine, fishing, clamming, and cooking. He also loved going to his favorite pub, The Alumni.

John was the loving husband of the late Lois A. (Reinhalter) Mahoney. Father of Alice Matheny and her husband Stephen, the late Charles E. Mahoney, Kathleen Glauben and her late husband John, Richard Mahoney and his late wife Debra, Kellie Chambers and her late husband Troy. Grandfather of the late Steve Matheny, Joshua, Katie, Lynne, John, Kyle, Kim and Craig. Great Grandfather of Emma, Kristopher, Haily, Riley, Rachel, Kourtney, Bryce, and Ruthie. Brother of Josephine Kingma, late Mary McCune, late Charles Mahoney, and the late Sheila Gallagher.

Visiting hours will be held on Monday, March 27th from 4:00PM-7:00PM at Sullivan Funeral Homes in Hanover - 551 Washington St., Rt. 53. A funeral home service will be held the following morning, Tuesday, March 28th, starting at 10:00AM. Burial will follow at Hanover Center Cemetery.
